Shropshire Pony Parties brought along a special visitor today to meet the Day Opportunities learners.

Marty is a miniature Shetland Pony and today he surprised our Day Opportunities learners by visiting Longbow House.

Recent studies have discussed the benefits of animals being used in therapy sessions, providing calmness and comfort to people. Marty is 34 inches tall and is often used as a therapy horse for care providers in Shropshire.

Everyone had the opportunity to look and touch Marty’s long hair, with some of the learners enjoying feeding Marty some treats too!

Lucy thought Marty was cute and Tom said his hair was soft. Thank you to Shropshire Pony Parties and especially Marty for a fantastic morning.
