Owen Lewis – Positive Behaviour Support Manager

Owen Lewis

Owen is responsible for Positive Behaviour Support at Condover College. He provides long-term support to people with learning disabilities who have, or may be at risk of developing, behaviours of concern.

Owen uses person-centred values, behavioural science (following the NAPPI UK behaviour model) and evidence to inform decision-making. Behaviour of concern, usually happens for a reason and is the person’s way of communicating unmet needs. Owen helps us understand the reason for the behaviour so we can better meet people’s needs, enhance their quality of life and reduce the impact stress to the person, therefore reducing the behaviour that will occur.

Owen is a qualified affiliate trainer with NAPPI UK (Non-Abusive Psychological and Physical Intervention). He is known for being creative, empathic and proactive and his enthusiasm and passion for the people we support and inspires the whole team to learn and improve quality of life. He gets great satisfaction from improving the lives of not only the people we support, but also the staff team supporting them.

Ceri is passionate about person-centred care which involves helping every learner to work towards goals that are personal and meaningful to them. Ceri is leading the Physio team to follow a holistic approach that promotes independence and activity engagement. She believes Physiotherapy should be enjoyable to encourage learners to be physically active and promote health and wellbeing.
