CCL plans to build their very own Hydrotherapy Pool have been approved by Shropshire Council.

CCL are excited to announce that the plans for our very own Hydrotherapy Pool have been approved by Shropshire Council.

Hydrotherapy is a very important therapeutic intervention for the people we support, especially for those with multiple disabilities who spend much of their day in a wheelchair – it is their only experience of completely free movement. The warm water helps muscle relaxation, joint movement and can be used to strengthen even the weakest of muscles. The buoyancy of the water means that for some people who cannot bear their own weight on dry land can experience the upright position and a walking motion.

Chief Executive of CCL Vikki Pryce said “We have talked about having a Hydrotherapy Pool for many years, so to finally have approval to be able to start this project is a great achievement. It has been a long road visiting other schools to look at pools, finding a high quality company to work with us on the build and then obtaining planning. It has been our ambition and long term aim to have our own Hydrotherapy Pool since the beginning of CCL and we are all very excited to have finally been given the go ahead”.

The CCL Hydrotherapy Pool will be located at Greenfields, our Short Breaks site in Shropshire and will regularly benefit the people we support.

We look forward to keeping you up-to-date on the developments, as building commences during the next few months.
