At CCL, it has been a life-long goal to raise funds to build and open a Hydrotherapy Pool. In 2020, CCL achieved this goal. Unfortunately, due to COVID, CCL’s young people have been unable to use the pool since it was built. However, today (07/06/2021) the pool opened, allowing CCL’s learners and residents to begin reaping the benefits of the pool. Hydrotherapy is an incredibly important therapeutic intervention for the people we support, particularly those who spend time in a wheelchair as this is their only experience of completely free movement.

Karen Field, Lead Physiotherapist is extremely excited the Hydrotherapy Pool is now open “I am so happy that after everyone’s hard work, our young people can finally use the pool. From fundraising and staff training to maintenance consistently monitoring the pool, everyone has worked so hard. At last, our learners and residents can benefit from using it. Those who have visited so far have been so happy to be back in a pool again. Exciting times ahead.”

CCL are thrilled to be able to offer the Hydrotherapy pool to its young people. Another step towards some form of normality and a brighter future!
