This week is #NationalCareersWeek. National Careers Week is a celebration of careers guidance and free resources in education across the UK. To take part we will be profiling some of our wonderful CCL members who are either studying while working or who have made a career change.

Today, we are celebrating Lisa Hand, our Support Worker at the Wheatlands

Lisa joined CCL 5 months ago, starting her new career in care as a Support Worker. Prior to working at CCL, Lisa worked in the Taxi industry for many years. However, during the COVID-19 lockdowns, Lisa had time to reflect on what she really wanted and decided it was time to take a different career path. When Lisa started looking for new job roles, she stumbled across CCL’s advert for a Support Worker and liked the look and feel of it, so knew it was right for her.

When asking Lisa what she likes about her job she replied “I love everything about my job, going to work and seeing the smiles is so rewarding. Working Christmas day, seeing the guys opening their presents and the look of joy on their faces was just so special and an amazing feeling to go home with”.

As part of her new role, Lisa will soon be completing her Level 3 Health & Social Care.

Lisa strongly believes she made the right career change, and we are so pleased she did! A huge thank you to Lisa!
