We are saddened to announce the passing of Eddie Henderson on Monday 19th July. Eddie was a valued member of CCL’s Board of Management and father of Kim Henderson, resident of Church View. Eddie spent his last few days with his wife, Sue and daughters, Kim, Liz & Yvonne.

Eddie played an important part at CCL, taking on the role of one of our original members of the Board of Management, commencing in September 2004. He was well respected, and CCL has not only lost a valued colleague, but a dear friend.

Eddie was a keen advocate for talking about CCL with anyone he met. From attending our Christmas lunches at the Albright Hussey, to enjoying the annual Celebration Day at the Grafton Centre. Eddie was consistently supportive to the learners and complimentary of the staff team and played a part in fundraising at CCL, holding a Ceilidh dancing evening at Albright Hussey in aid of the Hydrotherapy Pool.

Eddie will be remembered for his tremendous contribution to CCL. A fond memory we will always have of Eddie was when he ran the bar at our 10th year anniversary celebrations, where he very much enjoyed meeting and chatting to everyone who attended.

In addition to being a Board Member and parent to Kim, who he was extremely proud of for her progression at CCL, he also offered mobility and visual impairment training for staff. The Longbow staff team will particularly miss his personality and kindness, turning up early for Board Meetings to ensure he could make himself and them coffees beforehand.

Eddie was a truly special person with a heart of gold. It was an honour to work alongside him over the years and he will be deeply missed. Our hearts go out to Sue, Kim, Liz and Yvonne.
