Our residents

We welcome residents aged 18+ who experience a broad range of difficulties – from profound and multiple learning difficulties, moderate to severe learning disabilities and multi-sensory impairment, to autism and other complex needs.

Independence

We place residents in our homes according to their needs, personalities, likes and dislikes. We also match each resident with a key worker who acts as a link between the home and the resident’s family. Our key workers build strong relationships with residents, and are responsible for monitoring residents’ wellbeing and their day-to-day essentials like clothing and pocket money.

It’s important to us that residents have a say in how their homes are run. We hold monthly house meetings where residents can discuss their activities, meal times or anything else that’s on their minds. We also hold weekly menu planning meetings and regular care reviews.

Activities and entertainment

From bowling to gardening, we do all we can to support our residents’ hobbies and interests. Whether you love movies and popcorn or think you’re the next Jamie Oliver, we have just the ticket on our opportunities programme.

We also encourage community participation wherever possible – whether that’s catching the train to meet friends, going to church or attending a local craft fair.

Healthcare needs

At Condover College, we take health and wellbeing seriously.

We offer regular physiotherapy sessions and our speech and language therapy team help residents work towards their communication goals throughout their stay with us.

All residents have their own comprehensive care plans and communication passports, and we conduct regular care reviews to assess their health, wellbeing, social participation and quality of life.

We also have excellent relationships with local healthcare supports, including doctors, dentists, opticians, community nurses, district nurses and disability access nurses.
