Board of Management

Patrick Moore – Chair

Patrick has served on our board since 2010. He has a long-standing interest in charitable and community service, and a commitment to helping people with additional needs. He considers it a privilege to help our learners lead as full lives as possible.

As a fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors for more than 40 years, Patrick offers valuable expertise when it comes to the residential side of our organisation. He also draws on more than 25 years’ experience as a volunteer director for a small housing association, providing accommodation for vulnerable elderly persons.

Patrick is an established member of Rotary and before that, Round Table. He also spent several years volunteering for a local church group, visiting Lourdes, France with people with disabilities and additional needs.

Vikki Pryce – Chief Executive

As our chief executive, Vikki leads us in our mission to help learners pursue their dreams and aspirations through quality care, education and support.

Vikki brings many years of knowledge and experience to her role and is dedicated to improving the lives of the people we support. She is proud to be part of such a strong team and enjoys seeing our learners progress.

Before joining Condover College in 2004, Vikki worked for the Royal National Institute for the Blind with children who had severe learning difficulties and complex health needs.

She is a fellow of the Institute for Leadership and Management and holds an Level 7 certificate in Leadership and Management and NVQ in Leadership and management for Care Services (Registered Manager’s Award, units A1 and V1).

Benjamin Michael Blakemore – Board Member

Mike joined Condover College in 2005. He brings 30 years’ experience in the education and care sectors and holds a bachelor’s degree in education, a master’s in education management and a bachelor’s of philosophy in special educational needs.

With experience in a variety of management posts in the primary, secondary and tertiary education sectors (including that of headmaster), Mike has plenty to offer our organisation. He has worked for the state system, private residential sector and charities of all sizes.

Mike’s son, who has a severe learning disability, is also a resident at Condover College.

Bernadette McGill – Board Member

Bernadette has been with Condover College from the very beginning, as she was married to Steve, our founder.

Their son was our first student to be supported by Condover College. This means Bernadette is heavily invested in ensuring the care and opportunities we provide are of the highest quality.

Bernadette previously worked for the visual impairment service and has three other children.

Gareth-Lee Smith – Board Member

Gareth joined our board in 2015. As a lawyer, he provides invaluable legal advice and support for our day-to-day operations.

He has an LLB in law from Swansea University and undertook an LLM in commercial law at the University of Birmingham in 2016/17. He is also currently training to become a barrister.

Gareth feels proud to contribute to the board at Condover College, and says he hopes to continue helping our organisation provide exceptionally high-quality services for many years to come.

Charlotte Ward – Board Member

Charlotte joined our board in 2018. She has worked in a variety of administrative roles for Condover College and is now a Chartered Accountant bringing her professional experience to the board.

Originally from Shrewsbury, Charlotte has experience in a variety of administrative roles at Condover College before, during and after achieving her BSc in Mathematics at The University of Manchester. She has since qualified as a Chartered Accountant with a top 4 professional services firm before moving into an industry based role.

Charlotte has first-hand experience and appreciation for the work CCL does to support our young people and is proud to be a part of such an inspiring organisation.

Theresa Houghton – Board Member

Theresa joined our Education Committee and the Board in May 2013.

She originally trained as a nurse and subsequently moved into teaching after completing a history degree at the University of Kent.

She worked at Ludlow College from 2001 – 2013 finally holding a senior management role. From 2013, until her move to the Cotswolds in 2018, she was director of Darwin Training Ltd – a specialist the health and social care training provider.

Vikki Pryce – Chief Executive

As our chief executive, Vikki leads us in our mission to help learners pursue their dreams and aspirations through quality care, education and support.

Tracy Gillett – Director of Education

Tracy is our ultra-organised, enthusiastic director of education who has many years’ experience working in the special education sector.

She started her career as an SEN tutor and work experience coordinator at a further education college. After several years as deputy head at a specialist college in Greater Manchester – where she introduced and played a key role in the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award scheme – she moved to Condover College in 2012.

Tracy is passionate about special education for young adults and has a master’s degree in special educational needs and inclusion from Manchester Metropolitan University and current experience inspecting educational provisions for high-needs students.

Jo Mear – Director of Care and Support

Jo has been with us from day one. She previously worked at the RNIB Condover Hall School and started with Condover College as a deputy manager. She has been Director of care and support since 2007.

Jo comes from a family of caring professionals and is known for being supportive, caring and always willing to go the extra mile. She enjoys meeting new people and raising money for charity, and has managed to combine the two by running the Condover College charity ball for the last nine years.

She has a level 5 qualification from the Institute for Leadership and Management, qualifications in health and social care and is the manual handling trainer for our organisation.

Neil Bradburn – Director of Finance

Neil leads our finance team, managing the preparation of all our accounts, negotiating funding and ensuring a watertight budget. He joined us in a part-time capacity in 2005, before going full-time in 2014.

Neil brings a great deal of expertise to our organisation, having been a chartered accountant for 14 years, specialising in owner-managed businesses, charities and housing associations.
He believes the most rewarding aspect of working for Condover College is being able to use his skills to create surplus funds to reinvest in our organisation for the benefit of our learners.
