On Friday 18th March 2022 the Orchard, one of CCL’s residential homes, attended the Great British National Care Awards at ICC Birmingham. The Orchard was shortlisted as a finalist for the ‘Care Home Team Award’. It was a fantastic evening hosted by the Great British Care Awards.

Even though the Orchard won their regional award they unfortunately didn’t win the National final, however we are honoured to have been finalists and would like to congratulate the Orchard for their outstanding commitment and dedication to their residents.

Donna Shrimpton Registered Manager of the Orchard said “My staff team have won the regional finals which is an amazing achievement by itself, we are still in the top 11 best care home teams in the whole of the UK as this year’s Great British Care Awards was the first time that they had England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland altogether. We were put forward for the award as my care team go above and beyond for the residents at the Orchard, nothing is too much trouble and especially throughout the pandemic they have done an absolutely amazing job at keeping my residents safe, this is down to their continued hard work and working together and looking out for each other. I am very proud of each and every one of my staff team and they deserved the recognition so again well done team Orchard.”

Vikki Pryce, Chief Executive of CCL is extremely proud of the Orchard and said, “To get to the Great British National Care Award finals is fantastic, they are still winners in our eyes.”

We would like to send our congratulations to the Ynystawe Lodge, M&D Care who won the the Care Home Team Award and we look forward to entering the next Regional Care Awards in the hope of becoming national finalists once again.
