Monday 21st – Sunday 27th February is #YouCanCareWeek hosted by Home Instead.

#YouCanCareWeek is all about shining a spotlight on the incredible people working in the care sector and encouraging others to join.

To celebrate You Can Care Week 2022, we wanted to take the opportunity to share some stories from our wonderful CCL team members.

Today we are celebrating Sarah Lofts.

Sarah Lofts

Sarah is the Deputy Manager at the Crescent. She joined CCL in September 2014 as a Support Worker and has progressed all the way up to Deputy Manager.

Sarah started her career in care over 19 years ago. Prior to this, she worked part-time in care whilst studying finance in college. During her part-time role, she learned many aspects of the care industry and really enjoyed it, so following this she began working in elderly care. Sarah then started working in ALD care 14 years ago, loves the challenge and hasn’t looked back since!

When asking Sarah why she moved into the care sector, she said “I made the move as no day is the same, I learn something new every day, I’m naturally an empathetic person and I love meeting new people and enriching and supporting people to achieve the best that they can.”

On asking Sarah what she likes about her job, she replied “I like my job because it gives me a great sense of achievement, I like that those who I have supported have made me who I am today and knowing that I can support our learners to achieve their dreams and to lead fulfilling lives, gives me a great feeling of accomplishmen – if you do something consistently, you have success and that’s what I feel when I come to work, like I’m succeeding.”

A huge thank you to Sarah for sharing her story and for the amazing work she does!
