CCL students’ design and create a new Independent Living Suite to practice and learn valuable daily living skills.

The students at the Grafton Centre have been working hard over the last couple of months to design and create a space that can be used to develop their daily living skills.

Led by Becky McGuiness (Personal Tutor) and supported by Pete Alvis (Caretaker), the students have been busy choosing colour schemes, trying their hand at DIY and painting, shopping for furnishings and building flat-packed furniture to create their new Independent Living Suite.

Using the new suite, students will now have the opportunity to learn and develop a wider range of independent living skills and engage in various tasks such as making beds, hanging and sorting clothes, setting tables and cleaning.
