Monday 21st – Sunday 27th February is #YouCanCareWeek hosted by Home Instead.

#YouCanCareWeek is all about shining a spotlight on the incredible people working in the care sector and encouraging others to join.

To celebrate You Can Care Week 2022, we wanted to take the opportunity to share some stories from our wonderful CCL team members.

Kirsty Gale

Today, we are celebrating Kirsty Gale, Lead Support Worker at Walford Lodge.  Kirsty joined CCL in October 2016 as a Support Worker. Prior to joining CCL, Kirsty worked as a Nursery Nurse.

In a sense, Kirsty had always worked in care at the nursery with children, but decided to fully move into the care industry as she wanted to work with adults with learning disabilities. Having worked at CCL now for nearly 6 years, Kirsty said her favourite thing about her job is I like that it’s really rewarding and seeing the young people I support with smiles when they have achieved their goals”.

A big thank you to Kirsty for sharing her story with us and a thank you for all the amazing work she does!

Rebecca Jones

We are also celebrating Rebecca Jones, Deputy Manager at Hall Bank Mews. Rebecca joined CCL 5 years ago as a Waking Night Worker. Throughout that time, she then became Support Worker and has progressed all the way up to Lead Support and, now, Deputy Manager.

Prior to working at CCL, Rebecca worked in home care, requiring her to travel all over England and Wales to care for individuals on a one-to-one ratio. On asking Rebecca why she moved into care, she said “I’ve always had a lot of love to give, my kindness and patience makes me ideal for this type of career and I like to help people whenever I can. I love what I do, its very fulfilling and rewarding, and I have given care to many amazing people.

Rebecca also said her favourite thing about her job is “Being able to make a difference to another person’s life, helping them to fulfil ambitions and dreams and just seeing them smile or laugh each day, makes my day.”

Thank you to Rebecca for sharing her story with us and for all her hard work!
